The Philadelphia Flyers got the early jump on free agency when they acquired the rights to pending free agent Kevin Hayes.
It doesn't mean that Hayes is guaranteed to sign with Philly, however having Hayes' former head coach, Alain Vigneault, around definitely gives them an edge.
When Hayes was acquired we heard a deal was being worked on almost immediately, however recently we've heard the two sides are far apart.
Well it seems the two sides are looking to at least try and figure something out.
According to Jason Myrtetus of 97.5FM Philly, Hayes is scheduled to be in town this week and Philly will give Hayes a full presentation of the team's plans for the future.
This is obviously a big week for Chuck Fletcher and the rest of the Flyers as they can hopefully blow Hayes' mind away to get him to sign before he's able to speak to other teams.
Kevin Hayes will be coming to Philly this week. Flyers will show him their vision for the future and get into the serious discussion phase. Free Agent players considering teams routinely hear a pitch of sorts especially in this situation. Very important week for the Flyers
