On Monday night, the Philadelphia Flyers finally snapped their ridiculous losing streak, and avoided creating a new franchise worst.

Over the past 10 games, Flyers fans have been calling for head coach Dave Hakstol's head and chants of "Fire Hakstol" have been heard over and over again at home.

Well, after the win, Flyers general manager Ron Hextall once again came out in his coach's defense.

“Dave Hakstol is our coach and will remain our coach. Period.” Hextall said.

While that statement makes sense, with the way the team has been playing it's interesting to note that Hextall wasn't committed to anything past this season and even the remainder of this season as he was asked about it further. Maybe Hextall isn't so sure that the team won't go on another 10-20 game losing streak because there's been lots of talk of Hakstol losing the room.

Perhaps moving Wayne Simmonds back to the top line will save Hakstol's job until at least the new year.
