With the Philadelphia Flyers bouncing back after their humiliating defeat during the home opener, the team has announced Claude Giroux's alternate captains for the 2018-19 season.

No surprise as Wayne Simmonds will wear an "A" all season. The fan favourite who will be the only alternate captain who will wear it all times, both at home and on the road. Even though Simmonds is an impending free agent and has plenty of trade speculation surrounding him, the forward without a doubt remains one of the most respected players in the locker room.

The team has decided that on the road, Andrew MacDonald will serve as the other alternate. MacDonald is a veteran in the locker room, however it's an interesting choice as the the blueliner could arguably be worthy of a healthy scratch at times.

At home, 2017-18 breakout star Sean Couturier will wear the extra "A".
