Philadelphia Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher has talked some big game over the last couple of months.
During the season he said the team doesn't really have any untouchables besides Claude Giroux and eventually traded a fan favourite in Wayne Simmonds.
At the NHL Draft Combine, Fletcher revealed that he's willing to make some big moves this summer to improve his team.
As the weekend winded down, he admitted that he's also willing to move an interesting piece before the 2019 NHL Draft.
Fletcher told Sam Carchidi of Philly.com that he's put the team's 2019 1st Round Pick on the trade block.
"If we can get a good player at the right stage of his career and with some term left on his contract, we’d certainly look at it," said Fletcher as per Carchidi's report.
Fletcher will keep it if he doesn't get the deal he wants, however clearly Fletcher is targeting a trade rather than using the 11th overall pick.
#Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher is listening to trade offers for his first overall pick. He will happily keep it if he doesn’t get what he wants, but “if we can get a good player at the right stage of his career and with some term left on his contract, we’d certainly look at it.”
