The wounds of the ugly 2021 Philadelphia Flyers season are finally starting to heal.

Despite the teams 11-4-3 start, the season was a complete disaster and resulted in the Flyers missing the playoffs for the second time in the last three years.

After the season there was plenty of speculation regarding head coach Alain Vigneault's future and the New York Post's Larry Brooks reported there's a strong chance AV would not be back.

However according to Flyers' general manager Chuck Fletcher, that isn't the case.

Fletcher confirmed that AV will be back next year.

"AV’s our coach and we’re excited to have he and his staff back next season,’’ Fletcher said without any hesitation.

“We have a lot of work ahead of us to redefine our defensive game and our defensive structure. I can’t think of a better group to do it than the group of experienced coaches that we have behind our bench right now.’’

What do you think of Fletcher's decision?
