The Philadelphia Flyers season is just around the corner and training camp is set to open in only a couple of days.
On Thursday, Flyers' general manager Chuck Fletcher met with the media to take some questions and explain his offseason moves.
One of Fletcher's revelations was pretty shocking/surprising.
Fletcher told the media that young defensive prospect Samuel Morin will transition from defense to left wing!
A pretty surprising move for the 6'7 blueliner.
Fletcher added that Morin has been working during the offseason to understands the ins and outs of the position. He added that the organization currently feels that their stocked up on defenseman and this is the best way for Morin to contribute to the team.
Do you think this experiment will work?
Chuck Fletcher: Training camp roster to be released Saturday. Ustimenko had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip: 4-5 month recovery. Sam Morin will attempt to play LW to start the season.

Fletcher on Morin: We are deep on D. This is Sam's best chance to be with our team up here; add size and physicality. Has been working at it a few months.— Bill Meltzer (@billmeltzer) December 31, 2020
