Former Philadelphia Flyers fan favourite Wayne Simmonds has had a tough last couple of years.

Injuries have been the major issue and he was shipped out of Philly by new Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher.

The Nashville Predators had no interest in bringing him back after acquiring him at the deadline so he had to find a new home through free agency.

The 30 year old wasn't able to land any long term deals and accepted a one year prove it deal from one of the Flyers rivals.

Simmonds will join the New Jersey Devils on a one year $5million deal.
