The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher announced a contract extension on Monday.
The team has given restricted free agent Travis Sanheim a two year extension.
Sanheim's new deal comes with a AAV of $3.25million and will bridge him to his next contract where he'll be RFA again.
"I'm obviously really excited. It's a big step in my career. I'm looking forward to another two years with the Flyers. I'm really excited with the way the team's moving forward and the moves we've made this summer." Sanheim said through a statement.
The Flyers GM said the organization puts a lot of value into the work the young defenseman has put in.
"We are very pleased with the progress Travis has made in his young career," said Fletcher. "He is a skilled, two-way defenseman with excellent size and mobility. He is a big part of our present and our future."
