The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher announced a contract signing on Wednesday.
It's a bit early, but the team has already signed a forward to a PTO for the team's training camp.
Fletcher announced the team has signed Chris Steward to an NHL PTO and will attend the Flyers training camp.
Stewart can bring a physical aspect to the game, and if he makes the team, possibly replace Wayne Simmonds in some aspects.
The only holdup is that Stewart didn't play hockey in North America last year as he actually played in the UK.
His last NHL team was the Minnesota Wild who were under Chuck Fletcher's watch at the time.
The #Flyers have signed free agent forward Chris Stewart to an @NHL Pro Try-Out to attend our 2019 Training Camp.
