The Philadelphia Flyers hit the ice tonight and hope to follow up the statement they made last night in defeating the Edmonton Oilers in Edmonton for the first time since 2015.

Tonight they'll face a Vancouver Canucks team that is coming off a loss to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night which happened to be their home opener as well.

There was some optimism that Ryan Ellis would jump into the lineup tonight however the Flyers have just confirmed that Ellis will miss his third straight game.

Between the pipes it'll be a battle of the backups as Martin Jones and his 1-0-0 record along with his 3.00 GAA and .925 save percentage goes up against Jaroslav Halak and his 0-1-0 record along with a 2.07 GAA and .900 save percentage.

The rest of the lineup is expected to stay the same.
