With the Philadelphia Flyers losing streak now reaching eight games and the most recent loss to the rival Pittsburgh Penguins, cries to have head coach Dave Hakstol fired are louder than ever.
While a large group of fans want him out ASAP, with the head coach signed until the end of the 2019-20 season, it's unlikely general manager Ron Hextall hands Hakstol a pink slip.
However, as PuckProse points out, that could be a good thing.
In being patient with Hakstol and the Flyers young players, "trusting the process" could be the best thing in the long run.
Hakstol has gotten some slack for his handling of young players, but at the moment Ivan Provorov, Robert Hagg and Shayne Gostisbehere are looking great, all averaging about 20 minutes a a game.
The youngsters seem to be developing at a good pace and the team is playing in arguably the NHL's toughest division.
While all that might hold true, if Hakstol doesn't get the team back on the winning side of things, he'll lose the locker room and it won't matter how long he's signed through, he'll be out of a job.
Do you think the Flyers should be patient with their head coach, or is change needed immediately?
