The Philadelphia Flyers are struggling, and struggling hard.
The team has lost seven games in a row and while the idea of firing head coach Dave Hakstol continues to grow amongst fans, it might be forward Wayne Simmonds who finds his time with the Flyers coming to an end.
Sam Carchidi of Philly.com suggests that if the team doesn't get it together during the next six weeks, general manager Ron Hextall might deal one of the team's most popular players.
Simmonds has an extremely team friendly contract which expires after next season and could bring back quite the haul.
Carchidi goes on to mention it would be more beneficial for the team to deal Simmonds than it would be to fire Hakstol. Simmonds would bring back building blocks for the future and hopefully a haul in that trade would make people forget about the Brayden Schenn trade (Schenn has 30 points in 24 games for the Blues so far this year).
Do you think Simmonds could be moved before Hakstol is fired?
