The Philadelphia Flyers are in the midst of seven game losing streak and it seems like head coach Dave Hakstol is running out of answers. It looks like Hakstol will reply on his veterans to break the streak versus the rival Pittsburgh Penguins Monday night.
Both Jori Lehtera and Dale Weise will be back in the lineup tomorrow, with Taylor Leier and Jordan Weal sitting out.
“I think every time you’ve seen Jori in the lineup he’s played good, hard, two-way hockey,” Hakstol said, per Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post. “He brings a heaviness to whatever line he’s on. For me it’s looking at factors like that. The veteran presence, that obviously can be a benefit, but that’s not the first thing that’s on the list in looking at any kind of lineup change like that.”
Another veteran will return as well with defenseman Andrew MacDonald expected back versus the Penguins. MacDonald has been out since October 21 with a lower-body injury. Sam Morin is expected to be sent back down to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms tomorrow to make room for MacDonald on the roster.
#Flyers won just 3 of 15 games without Mac (3-6-6). It appears he will return Mon. in Pittsburgh.— Sam Carchidi (@BroadStBull) November 26, 2017
