The Philadelphia Flyers have now extended their losing streak to seven games.
A mark which most Flyers fans believe is unacceptable and should result in the firing of Dave Hakstol.
There's many coaching decisions over the last 2-3 years which had fans upset, but last night's game seems to be the boiling point. Last night's overtime loss against the Islanders have the team sitting 0-3-4 during their losing streak.
The team brought the Islanders into overtime, however Hakstol's choice of not using offensive minded players for the 3 on 3 in overtime, choosing Manning over Ghost, Provorov or Sanheim, had the #FireHakstol hashtag trending on Twitter.
Under Hakstol the team won 10 straight games last year, but still failed to miss the playoffs.
Hakstol took over from Craig Berube after an 11 year stint as head coach of the University of North Dakota. He has a 88-69-30 record over his three seasons with the Flyers and has yet to win a playoff round with the team.
With Hakstol signed through the 2019-20 season, is it too early to fire him?
