The Philadelphia Flyers will have back-to-back games against the Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders before the Thanksgiving holiday. Once again, Dave Hakstol is searching for the right bottom nine to give his team some much needed secondary scoring.
Jordan Weal will be back in the lineup tomorrow night after missing Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury. He will start on the second line against the Canucks. To make room for his return it appears that Dale Weise will be a healthy scratch.
Here is how the team lined up on Monday morning:
Claude Giroux – Sean Couturier – Jake Voracek
Jordan Weal – Nolan Patrick – Wayne Simmonds
Michael Raffl – Valtteri Filppula – Travis Konecny
Taylor Leier – Scott Laughton – Jori Lehtera
“It’s been a lot of hard work and not much to show for it,” Weal said after practice, per Sam Carchidi of philly.com. “It seems like we’ve been getting three or four chances every game, and nothing right now seems to be going in. It’s one of those things that happens during the season, and you just have to keep working and keep battling because once it breaks open, hopefully it’ll break wide open.”
Do you think these new combinations will finally provide some secondary scoring?
