It's been three weeks since we've seen defenseman Andrew MacDonald in a Philadelphia Flyers uniform.
That's three weeks out of his four to six weeks expected return and things are definitely on the up and up.
As Flyers general manager Ron Hextall mentioned on the weekend, the team was hoping that MacDonald would be able to travel with the team and starts practicing. His hope came true as MacDonald did make the trip with the team to Minnesota, but didn't jump on the ice for Tuesday's practice.
It's definitely a good first step in the right direction.
Even though MacDonald didn't get any practice in on Monday or Tuesday, Hextall mentioned that MacDonald isn't ready a guy who needs a long time to get back into the lineup and should only need a practice or two to be ready to get into game action.
Flyers rookie Nolan Patrick did practice on Tuesday, but isn't expected to be in the lineup.
Andrew MacDonald made trip but not on the ice. Patrick is. #Flyers— Sam Carchidi (@BroadStBull) November 14, 2017
