The Philadelphia Flyers were back at practice this morning and they had some special guests greet them after they got off the ice.

Apparently captain Claude Giroux thought the 7-6-2 Flyers needed a little extra motivation before Thursday night’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks.  The team captain invited a Philadelphia sports legend to talk to the team today.

With the Eagles dominating the headlines in Philadelphia these days, why not bring someone in who knows about winning in this town?  Former Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil spoke to the team after Tuesday’s morning skate.

Vermeil let the Eagles to their first Super Bowl back in 1980 before going on to win the “Big Game” with the St. Louis Rams in 1999.

Legendary NFL coach Dick Vermeil spoke to the Flyers team, at Claude Giroux's invite, after practice today. Better motivators hard to find!

Hard to believe Dick Vermeil, shown here with Dave Hakstol, is 81. He looks great! #Flyers
