While Travis Konecny had trouble getting ice time for Dave Hakstol at times during the 2016-17 season, he has been taking full advantage of his playing time for Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship.

Konecny picked up a pair of assists in Canada’s 6-0 win over Belarus in Paris, France today bringing his tournament total to six helpers in three games.

The Flyers’ young winger pick up his first helper of the day on the eventual game winning goal from Brayden Point of the Tampa Bay Lightning just over five minutes into the game.  Mitch Marner of the Toronto Maple Leafs had the primary assist.

Konecny had the primary assist on Point’s third period goal as well, which was Canada’s sixth and final tally on the day.  San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic had the secondary assist.

In between Konency’s two assists, Flyers captain Claude Giroux picked up his first goal of the tournament as he put back the rebound off of a Jeff Skinner shot to give Canada a 5-0 lead.
