Sam Morin’s name never came up when Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall discussed injuries at his end of the year press conference last month.

According to Sam Charchidi of philly.com, Hextall confirmed on Saturday that the defensive prospect had successful surgery on both of his wrists. He added by saying that the injury was “nothing long term.” The news first first reported by Tony Androckitis of Highland Park Hockey on Friday.

Hextall made the confirmation after Morin posted two pictures to his Instagram account showing stiches on his wrists. He deleted the posts, but Highland Park Hockey was able to grab a pair of screen shots before they disappeared.
