Goaltending Prospect To Stay In Sweden Next Season

While we still are not completely sure who will be in the crease at the NHL level this season, the Philadelphia Flyers have plenty of young goaltenders within the system. Anthony Stolarz, Alex Lyon, Carter Hart, Merrick Madsen and Matej Tomek are among some of the youngsters who could be in Philadelphia in the future.

One goaltending prospect will be staying in Europe for at least one more season before coming over to North America. Brynas IF, of the Swedish Hockey League, has announced that they have agreed to a one-year contract extension with Felix Sandstrom.

This is a good move for both Sandstrom and the Flyers for the long term. Sandstrom will most likely be the number one goaltender for Byrnas next season. This means he will be playing nearly every night instead of splitting time with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Sandstrom, drafted in the third-round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, posted a 2.25 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 22 SHL games this past season.
